A packed schedule of 68 shows and 34 presentations marks the Spring/Summer 2027 Paris Fashion Week, featuring two designer debuts and a return of several notable brands.
The Spring/Summer 2027 women’s ready-to-wear calendar is set to commence on September 28 and run through October 6, showcasing a total of 68 shows and 34 presentations. This season’s lineup reflects a decrease from the previous year, which featured 74 shows and 37 presentations during the Spring/Summer 2026 season. The latter was notable for an unprecedented wave of designer debuts, while this season will see only two new artistic directors making their initial appearances.
Designer Debuts and Returns
On September 30, Drew Henry will present his first collection for Courrèges at 10:30 AM, marking his debut as the brand’s artistic director. Following him, Kai Nesselrath will unveil his inaugural collection for Carven on October 1 at 12:30 PM. Both designers are stepping into significant roles within established fashion houses, reflecting a trend of new leadership in the industry.
In addition to these debuts, several brands are making noteworthy returns to the Paris Fashion Week calendar after taking a season or more off. Valentino, which previously showcased its Fall 2026 collection in Rome, is set to return along with Maison Margiela, Sacai, Ester Manas, Christopher Esber, and Casablanca. Notably, Maison Margiela’s creative director Glenn Martens will focus solely on the house following his departure from Diesel.
Significant Creative Directions
This season is particularly significant as it follows a year of major changes in the fashion landscape. PR expert Lucien Pagès emphasizes that it represents a time for designers to assert their creative visions. The third presentations of key designers, including Jonathan Anderson for Dior, Matthieu Blazy for Chanel, and Pierpaolo Piccioli for Balenciaga, are highly anticipated. Alix Morabito, chief merchandising officer of Galeries Lafayette, remarked on the excitement surrounding these presentations, stating, “There is always something particularly exciting — and intense — about witnessing two major talents define their visions within two of the world’s most powerful fashion houses.”
Highlight Events and Emerging Talent
The first day of Fashion Week will spotlight LVMH Prize alumni, including shows from Julie Kegels and Hodakova, winners from 2026 and 2024 respectively. Additionally, Fidan Novruzova, a semi-finalist from 2024, will join the official calendar this season. Satoshi Kuwata, the 2023 LVMH Prize winner, is also set to present his collaboration with French lifestyle brand Aigle at 6 PM in the garden of Musée Carnavalet.
Maxhosa Africa, a South African label founded by designer Laduma Ngxokolo, will showcase its first official PFW show on the opening day. Ngxokolo’s designs have gained international acclaim, worn by prominent figures such as Beyoncé and Michelle Obama. The second day will feature a show by Marie Adam-Leenaerdt, the 2026 Andam Grand Prize winner, who is known for her conceptual designs. Morabito praised Adam-Leenaerdt, stating, “She has earned it. Now, it’s time for her to fully unleash her strength, talent, and vision.” Also presenting on September 29 is Parisian designer Alexandra Golovanoff, who is expanding her cashmere line into a complete wardrobe collection.
Closing and Special Events
As the week progresses, Icicle, a Chinese fashion label led by newly appointed creative director Sabato De Sarno, will showcase its collection on October 1, with De Sarno’s first full collection set for presentation in March during FW27. The week will culminate with Louis Vuitton’s show on October 6 at 6:30 PM, marking the conclusion of the fashion month circuit.
Off-schedule events are also noteworthy, including a fashion show by musician A$AP Rocky on September 30 at Accor Arena, timed closely with his concert that evening. The show is anticipated to attract significant attention, following Rocky’s successful presentations of his AWGE clothing line in previous seasons.
Collaborations and Exhibitions
Fashion Week will also feature a series of collaborations and special events. L’Oréal Paris will host its annual show in front of the Eiffel Tower on September 28, featuring ambassadors like Simone Ashley and Viola Davis. Zara will launch its first collection in collaboration with John Galliano on October 1, further enhancing the season’s collaborative spirit.
Several exhibitions will coincide with the week, including “Penn & Fashion” at Maison Européenne de la Photographie, which opens on September 30, and “Look: 40 Years of Fashion at the Museum” at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. The Palais Galliera will present “A Wardrobe of One’s Own: Dissident Femininities in the 19th Century,” showcasing the appropriation of male dress codes by women in the 19th century.
Additionally, the Petit Trianon in Versailles will host the Marie Antoinette exhibition, celebrating the film’s 20th anniversary, featuring behind-the-scenes photographs and costumes from the production.
As the fashion world converges in Paris, the Spring/Summer 2027 edition of Fashion Week promises to deliver a rich tapestry of creativity, innovation, and cultural significance, setting the stage for the trends to come.
