“I am deeply honored to have been appointed by Governor Brian Kemp to serve on the Board of the Georgia Transportation Efficiency Authority (GTEA).” — Narender Reddy
Indian American entrepreneur and longtime public servant Narender Reddy has been appointed by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp to serve on the Board of the newly created Georgia Transportation Efficiency Authority (GTEA), a state agency established to streamline transportation planning and coordination across Georgia.
The appointment was made through an executive order signed by Governor Kemp on May 21, 2026, naming Reddy as one of the inaugural members of the authority’s governing board. The appointment comes as Georgia implements major transportation reforms following the creation of GTEA earlier this year.
Reddy announced the appointment in a public statement, expressing gratitude to Governor Kemp and emphasizing his commitment to improving transportation infrastructure and mobility across the state.
“I am deeply honored to have been appointed by Governor Brian Kemp to serve on the Board of the Georgia Transportation Efficiency Authority (GTEA),” Reddy wrote in his social media post.
The Georgia Transportation Efficiency Authority was established through legislation passed by the Georgia General Assembly in 2026 and signed into law by Governor Kemp on May 12. The new authority consolidates the functions of the former Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority (ATL) and the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA), bringing transportation planning, coordination, and oversight under a single organization.
According to Reddy, the new authority is intended to combine institutional knowledge, operational expertise, longstanding partnerships, and a business-oriented approach to government operations.
“Created through legislation passed by the Georgia General Assembly in April 2026, GTEA is designed to bring together institutional knowledge, operational expertise, longstanding partnerships, and a business-oriented approach to government,” he said.
Reddy also reflected on his longstanding involvement in Georgia transportation policy, noting that he has served on the Board of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority for more than two decades under multiple administrations.
“For the past 22 years, I have had the privilege of serving on the Board of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA), having been appointed by Governors Sonny Perdue, Nathan Deal, and Brian Kemp,” he said.
Reddy brings decades of experience in banking, finance, and commercial real estate to the role. A Georgia resident for more than 35 years, he earned his MBA from the University of Evansville and serves as owner and president of Sterling Realty Services, Inc., a commercial real estate firm. He was also a founding director of Quantum National Bank, where he helped evaluate commercial lending opportunities and loan applications.
Looking ahead, Reddy said he is committed to helping shape Georgia’s transportation future through the new authority.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the people of our great state and to contribute to Georgia’s transportation future through this new role,” he said.
He also thanked Governor Kemp for the appointment and expressed optimism about working with fellow board members to advance the authority’s mission.
“Thank you to Governor Kemp for his confidence and trust. I look forward to working with my fellow board members to help advance transportation efficiency, mobility, and economic growth across Georgia,” Reddy said.
The formation of GTEA represents one of the most significant transportation governance changes in Georgia in recent years, with state officials describing the move as an effort to improve efficiency, eliminate duplication, and strengthen transportation planning across the state.
