EDISON, NJ, July 21, 2026 – Demonstrating its ongoing commitment to community education and preventive healthcare, the GOPIO Central Jersey Chapter hosted a well-attended Community Health Seminar on Wednesday, July 15, at Royal Albert’s Palace in Edison, New Jersey. More than 100 community members participated in the program, which featured distinguished interventional cardiologist Dr. Kintur Sanghvi.
Dr. Sanghvi’s presentation, “From Prevention to Intervention: A Modern Approach to Cardiovascular Health,” provided practical guidance on preventing and managing heart disease. Speaking in clear, easy-to-understand language, he emphasized the importance of healthy eating, regular exercise, stress management, routine health screenings, and early diagnosis. He also highlighted recent advances in cardiovascular medicine, including minimally invasive procedures and innovative diagnostic technologies that have significantly improved patient outcomes.

The interactive presentation concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, during which attendees sought advice on maintaining heart health and reducing cardiovascular risk. The audience responded enthusiastically, reflecting the strong community interest in preventive healthcare.
The seminar was emceed by Sapna Mehta, Executive Member of GOPIO Central Jersey. Nishith Mehta, President of GOPIO Central Jersey, welcomed the audience and outlined the mission of the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO), emphasizing its commitment to serving the Indian diaspora through education, community service, leadership development, and civic engagement. He reaffirmed the chapter’s dedication to organizing programs that enhance the health and well-being of the community.
Dr. Tushar Patel, Past President of GOPIO Central Jersey, introduced Dr. Sanghvi, highlighting his distinguished career, outstanding contributions to cardiovascular medicine, and commitment to patient care and public health education. He also delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to Dr. Sanghvi, the attendees, volunteers, sponsors, media partners, and organizing committee for making the event a success.
The seminar reflected GOPIO Central Jersey’s continuing efforts to promote preventive healthcare through educational programs that empower individuals to make informed decisions about their health. With cardiovascular disease remaining one of the leading causes of death worldwide—and South Asians facing a higher-than-average risk—such initiatives play a vital role in raising awareness and encouraging early prevention.
