France and Morocco secured their places in the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarterfinals after defeating Paraguay and Canada respectively in the Round of 16.

Morocco produced an impressive display to beat co-hosts Canada 3-0 at Houston Stadium on Saturday, July 4, 2026, becoming the first team to book their place in the last eight from the day’s fixtures. The North African side dominated the contest with a disciplined defensive performance and clinical finishing to continue their remarkable tournament run.

France followed on Sunday, July 5, 2026, with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Paraguay at Philadelphia Stadium. A tightly contested encounter was settled by a single goal, allowing the 2018 world champions to edge past Paraguay and keep their hopes of another World Cup title alive.
