A noteworthy 88% of respondents asserted that all students should achieve data literacy prior to graduating from high school. Furthermore, 84% of participants expressed that data literacy and data science should be integrated across a range of subjects, rather than being limited to specialized fields like mathematics or computer science. When participants were asked to identify essential skills for preparing students to thrive in an AI-driven context, the majority prioritized problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities. These skills were deemed more critical than technical proficiencies, such as computer programming or constructing effective prompts for AI tools. The prioritization of foundational academic subjects—including math, science, and English—reflects a broader understanding that interdisciplinary skills will be vital for navigating a future increasingly dominated by technology and data.
