Madame Gandhi, whose real name is Kiran Gandhi, will perform shortly after releasing her latest EP, Love Letters from Brooklyn. The performance forms part of World Club, a two-week series of dance parties and silent discos hosted by international DJs as part of Lincoln Center’s annual Summer for the City programme.
Organisers described the event as “a bold celebration of movement, community, and global rhythm,” adding that Gandhi’s headlining debut at Lincoln Center is designed to bring audiences together through music.
A TED Fellow and Forbes 30 Under 30 honouree, Madame Gandhi is widely recognised for blending electronic music with themes of social impact and activism. Her performances are known for combining energetic dance music with messages of inclusion, empowerment and collective experience. She gained international recognition for free-bleeding while running the 2015 London Marathon and has since become a prominent voice for gender liberation, environmental sustainability, and personal empowerment.
Prior to launching her solo music career, Gandhi served as the drummer for GRAMMY-nominated artist M.I.A. and toured with acts like Kehlani and Thievery Corporation. She built a strong foundation in the music business, earning a degree in mathematics and women’s studies from Georgetown University, working as Interscope Records’ first-ever data analyst, and completing an MBA at Harvard Business School.
Lincoln Center said the July 8 event invites audiences to experience an evening where music speaks “equally to the mind and the body.”
