Trinidad and Tobago’s deep Indian heritage and vibrant diaspora community will provide the backdrop for the 2026 Miss, Mrs. and Teen India Worldwide pageants.
The Miss India Worldwide, Mrs. India Worldwide, and Teen India Worldwide pageants will be held in Trinidad and Tobago in 2026, bringing one of the largest international celebrations of the Indian diaspora to the Caribbean nation.
The announcement was made by Dharmatma Saran, founder and chairman of Miss India Worldwide, who said the event reflects the pageant’s continuing mission to promote Indian culture and connect diaspora communities across the globe.
“We are very proud of the fact that we have been able to imbibe Indian values, traditions, and culture among the youth of Indian origin around the world,” said Saran.
Organizers said the event will take place in a country with deep historical and cultural ties to India. Trinidad and Tobago has a large population of Indian origin, tracing its roots to indentured labourers who arrived from India in the 19th century.
The pageant is being supported by the Ministry of Tourism of Trinidad and Tobago and is expected to attract participants, families, and visitors from Indian communities worldwide.
Saran highlighted the unique connection between India and Trinidad and Tobago while announcing the venue.
“With over 40 percent of the population being of Indian origin, visitors can discover another India in Trinidad. Many villages and streets carry names of Indian cities, reflecting the enduring connection between the two countries,” he said.
He also noted that Trinidad and Tobago is currently led by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, who is of Indian origin, describing it as a matter of pride for Indians around the world.
According to organizers, the choice of Trinidad and Tobago reflects the country’s multicultural identity and its strong preservation of Indian traditions, festivals, cuisine, music, and religious practices.
Saran said he was personally moved by discovering a village named Patna in Trinidad, sharing the name of his hometown in India.
The 2026 edition will be coordinated locally by National Director Neha Karina and Umesh Meena, whom organizers credited for their support in bringing the pageant to the Caribbean.
Founded in 1990, Miss India Worldwide has grown into one of the most prominent international pageants for women of Indian origin, with contestants participating from countries across the world.
“I always pursue my dreams to the logical end. I want to increase the number of countries participating in the global contest, as there are Indians everywhere,” Saran said.
Organizers said the 2026 pageant will celebrate Indian heritage while strengthening cultural ties among diaspora communities across continents.
