2026 Access to Medicines PharmD Internship & Fellowship Program
Calla Lily Clinical Care, No Patient Left Behind, Pulmovant, Roivant Sciences, and Roivant Social Ventures (RSV), have partnered to create summer internship opportunities to provide real-world drug development experience to talented PharmD students. The intentions of this program are to expand access to medicines to vulnerable populations, and to further UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s goal of providing future industry leaders with pharmaceutical experience during their PharmD tenure.
We congratulate the following PharmD students on their 2026 internships and fellowships:
- Shane Brown, Roivant Sciences Research and Development Intern
- Ruhbani Jarral, Pulmovant Pharmacovigilance Intern
- Elainna Ng, RSV Global Access Fellow volunteering with Cally Lily Clinical Care in London, England. Calla Lily is transforming drug delivery for women through the development of their novel vaginal platform technology that supports fertility, pregnancy, and other gynaecological conditions.
- Nevaeh Roverato, RSV Access Fellow volunteering with No Patient Left Behind. No Patient Left Behind is a network of biotechnology innovators, investors, economists, healthcare professionals, and patients working together to support solutions that improve affordability while preserving the innovation ecosystem we all rely on.
The intentions of this program are to expand access to medicines to underserved populations, and to further UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s goal of providing future industry leaders with pharmaceutical experience during their PharmD tenure.

Nucleate Activator Demo Day
and Biotech Pitch Competition
On Friday, June 5, 2026, Nucleate will host Activator Demo Day to bring together founders, scientists, investors, and industry partners for a dynamic pitch competition showcasing breakthrough biotech startups.
In 2026 Nucleate’s Activator program paired 10 early-stage biotech founders with expert industry mentors, while also hosting educational workshops on technical risk, market risk, regulatory strategy, and fundraising. The program runs from January to June every year, culminating in Demo Day pitch competition.
Amanda Waldhauser, Executive Director of Roivant Social Ventures will serve as a judge in the pitch competition.
Nucleate is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the next generation of biotech leaders. With chapters spanning 41 geographic regions and participation from over 280 academic institutions, Nucleate sparks new intellectual communities and embeds emerging talent within a global biotech community. Through open-access educational programming, Nucleate helps democratize biotech innovation — removing barriers and helping founders concentrate on building transformational technologies.

2026 Convergence Forum Fellows
This May RSV hosted our third annual Convergence Forum Fellowships Program in support of CEOs championing healthcare equity through the development of therapeutics and technology.
We are excited to congratulate the following Roivant Social Ventures’ 2026 Convergence Forum Fellows:
- Daniel Mukasa, PhD, CEO of Ab Initio Bio. Ab Initio Bio is building foundation models for biomanufacturing, with the goal of compressing process development timelines and expanding access to biologic medicines.
- Mohan Purushothaman, PhD, CEO of Progentec Diagnostics, Inc., a digital health company specializing in autoimmune diseases, particularly lupus. Progentec aims to address the unique challenges faced by autoimmune patients, where 92% of their patients are women and 86% represent BIPOC communities.
- Jo Varshney, PhD, CEO of VeriSIM Life.VeriSIM Life is focused on improving how therapeutics are developed to be both more predictive and more equitable, ensuring that decisions better reflect diverse, often underrepresented patient populations.
The Convergence Forum for Leaders in Healthcare Innovation is an invitation only annual event that explores what’s happening in the rapidly-converging worlds of biotech, pharma, healthcare, medical devices, and the Internet. The programs foster debate and discussion while providing an opportunity for participants to make important new contacts, explore new directions in research, and delve deeply into what it takes to maintain competitive advantage in a fast-changing world.
2026 Annual Health Pitch Competition
May 8, 2026 was the 3rd Annual 2Flo Ventures Health Equity Pitch Competition! This event took place in Chicago, Illinois and supported early-stage startups and ideas with novel solutions in advancing health equity. In addition to 3 cash prize awards, this program worked to get startups plugged into and supported by industry leaders dedicated to advancing health equity.
Congratulations to this year’s finalists!
- 1st Place: Martin Beck LSW, QMHP, Founder & President of Anda Therapy Group, which delivers culturally responsive, school and community-based mental health care for underserved youth and families while building AndaAI, a platform for scalable Medicaid behavioral health operations.
- 2nd Place: Vidhi Gondalia, Co-Founder & CEO of CuraFitt, a medtech startup building a smart knee wearable that delivers real-time haptic feedback to guide post-surgical rehabilitation patients at home.
- 3rd Place: Luis Cisneros, Co-Founder & CEO of Serelora, an agentic workflow platform that builds a system of context around every patient, shared by patients, providers, and care teams across every encounter.
Amanda Waldhauser, Executive Director of Roivant Social Ventures, served as a judge in the pitch competition. Over 100 people volunteered their time to help the finalists in 2026.

Calla Lily Clinical Care
Calla Lily Clinical Care is transforming drug delivery for women through the development of their novel vaginal platform technology that improves both clinical outcomes and patient experience in women’s health. Their patented leak-free design allows for cleaner, more comfortable delivery of medicines and hormones, while also preventing drug wastage. Initial target indications are in fertility and pregnancy, where the company (a certified B Corp) seeks to offer the world’s first drug-device combination product for both threatened miscarriage and IVF luteal phase support. The platform’s versatility also makes it suitable for delivering a wide range of existing and upcoming vaginal therapeutics, including treatments for gynecological cancers, live biotherapeutic products (LBPs) to restore and maintain a healthy vaginal microbiome, and reducing the growth of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
