October 3, 2025 — The latest Global Innovation Index (GII) rankings reveal significant shifts in global innovation leadership. Switzerland maintains its position as the most innovative country, with a score of 67.5, followed by Sweden at 64.5, and the United States at 62.4. Notably, South Korea has advanced to the 6th position, reflecting its growing emphasis on technology and infrastructure. China continues to climb the ranks, now holding the 11th spot, indicating its increasing investment in research and development.

The GII evaluates 133 economies based on 81 indicators across seven pillars, including human capital, infrastructure, and business sophistication. This year’s report highlights the dynamic nature of global innovation, with emerging economies challenging traditional leaders. The rankings underscore the importance of sustained investment in innovation to drive economic growth and competitiveness.
